Sioux Falls Power Forward Finn Spehar Signs with WHL’s Portland Winterhawks
Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Power is excited to announce that Finn Spehar, a 2009-born forward from the 16U team, has officially signed a Western Hockey League (WHL) Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Portland Winterhawks.
Spehar, known for his high-end offensive instincts, playmaking ability, and explosive skating, had a standout season with the Power, consistently producing in key situations and emerging as a dominant force on the power play.
“Finn’s game is built on speed, skill, and offensive prowess,” said Sioux Falls Power 16U Head Coach Noelle Needham. “He’s earned this opportunity, and we’re proud to see him take the next step with a first-class organization like Portland.”
By signing with the Winterhawks, Spehar commits to one of the WHL’s most storied franchises, known for developing NHL talent and competing at the highest level of major junior hockey in North America.
“We’re thrilled for Finn and his family,” said Noelle Needham. “This is a testament to the work he’s put in and the path he’s forged here in Sioux Falls.”
The WHL is one of three leagues that make up the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), widely considered as a top development option for NHL prospects.
