Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Power proudly announces that 2009-born defenseman Easton Johnson has been selected to join the prestigious USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP) in Plymouth, Michigan, for the 2025–26 season.
Johnson, a standout on the Power's 16U team, has consistently demonstrated elite defensive awareness, skating ability, and poise beyond his years. His strong two-way play and leadership qualities were instrumental in Sioux Falls’ success throughout the 2024–25 season.
“Easton is a driven, highly skilled player with tremendous upside,” said Sioux Falls Power 16U Head Coach Noelle Needham. “He’s earned this opportunity through relentless work and a team-first mindset. We couldn’t be more proud.”
The NTDP, part of USA Hockey, is a premier program aimed at developing top American players for international competition and future success at the NCAA and NHL levels. Johnson joins an exclusive group of elite athletes who have worn the red, white, and blue at the U17 and U18 levels.
Easton becomes the latest Sioux Falls Power alumnus to reach the NTDP, further cementing the program's reputation as a pipeline for top-tier hockey talent.
