Sioux Falls Native Landon Fandel Records First Collegiate Point in Debut with Augustana University Hockey

Sioux Falls, SD native Landon Fandel made a strong first impression in his collegiate hockey debut with Augustana University, recording his first NCAA point in a 3-1 victory over Northern Michigan University.

Fandel grew up in the Sioux Falls hockey community, developing through the Sioux Falls Flyers program before advancing to play for the Sioux Falls Power, a nationally recognized Tier I organization. His time with the Power was marked by steady development, leadership, and a commitment to excellence — qualities that continue to stand out as he transitions to the college level.

Now wearing the Augustana Vikings jersey, Fandel is representing his hometown on one of the newest and most exciting programs in college hockey. Off the ice, he continues to train with Legend Hockey, a top Sioux Falls–based training program dedicated to developing elite players and preparing them for success at the junior and collegiate levels.

“Landon’s path from the Flyers to the Power and now to Augustana is something the entire Sioux Falls hockey community can take pride in,” said Noelle Needham. “His success reflects the strength of local player development and the opportunities available right here in Sioux Falls.”

Fandel’s collegiate debut and first point mark the beginning of what promises to be an exciting NCAA career — and another example of Sioux Falls talent making an impact on the national stage.
