Former Sioux Falls Power Coach John Draeger Hired as Assistant Coach at USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program (NTDP)

The Sioux Falls Power proudly congratulates John Draeger on his hiring as an Assistant Coach with USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program (NTDP) in Plymouth, Michigan.

Draeger, who previously served on the coaching staff with the Sioux Falls Power, played an instrumental role in the development and success of numerous players who have advanced to the junior, collegiate, and international levels. His leadership, attention to detail, and ability to connect with athletes made him a key part of the Power’s culture and player development philosophy.

Before joining the Power, Draeger enjoyed a standout collegiate career at Michigan State University (NCAA Division I, Big Ten) and was drafted in the third round of the NHL Draft to the Minnesota Wild, bringing a wealth of experience and perspective to his coaching role.

The USA Hockey National Team Development Program is widely recognized as one of the top development programs in the world, producing elite players who go on to compete in the NCAA, NHL, and international competition. Draeger’s addition to the NTDP staff underscores his growing reputation as one of the top young coaches in the game.
