Former Sioux Falls Power Defenseman Easton Johnson Commits to the University of Michigan (NCAA Division I, Big Ten)

The Sioux Falls Power proudly congratulates Easton Johnson (2009-born defenseman) on his commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey for the University of Michigan, a powerhouse program competing in the Big Ten Conference (B1G).

A standout former 16U defenseman for Sioux Falls Power, Johnson is now a member of the U.S. National Team Development Program (NTDP), where he continues to excel among the nation’s top players. Known for his poise, vision, and elite two-way ability, Johnson made a lasting impact during his time with the Power, setting the standard for excellence on and off the ice.

“Easton was the kind of player every coach wants — intelligent, driven, and composed,” said Noelle Needham, former Sioux Falls Power 16U Head Coach. “His development path reflects the work ethic and character he showed every day in our program. We’re extremely proud to see him take this next step with such a prestigious program like Michigan.”

The University of Michigan Wolverines are one of the most storied programs in college hockey, known for producing NHL talent and competing for national championships year after year. Johnson’s commitment continues the Sioux Falls Power tradition of advancing players to the highest levels of collegiate and international hockey.

The entire Sioux Falls Power organization congratulates Easton and his family on this remarkable achievement and looks forward to following his continued success with the NTDP and the Wolverines.
